Gerrie Meijers studied organ under Johan van Dommele and Hans van Nieuwkoop, and piano under Arthur Hartong and Jacques Hendriks at the Arnhem Conservatory, and graduated with honours in teaching and performance. She studied song accompaniment with Tan Crone, and is in demand as a piano accompanist in a wide range of vocal genres from solo song to large-scale choral works (with the Bach Choir Holland and other ensembles). She performs in duos with Wieke Ubels (soprano), Cecile Roovers (alto/mezzo and actress) and Annette Stallinga (alto), and in a keyboard duo with the organist and pianist Christine Kamp.
Gerrie Meijers is organist of the Remonstrantse Kerk in Haarlem, gives recitals in Holland and abroad and has made a number of radio broadcasts and CD recordings. She was a prizewinner at international organ competitions in Toulouse and Nijmegen, and was awarded the silver medal by the Société Academique Arts-Sciences-Lettres for her contribution to French music.
